Fugitive Accused of Raping Minor Tracked Down in Vrindavan, Paraded to Court Under Heavy Police Guard
Rajasthan Police arrested a 50-year-old man accused of raping a minor in Dholpur after tracking him to Vrindavan, Uttar Pradesh. The fugitive was found disguised as a woman. He was later escorted on foot from the police station to court as legal proceedings continue.
According to police officials, the crime occurred on December 15, when Sisodia allegedly raped a minor girl in Dholpur before fleeing the area to evade arrest. Acting on intelligence inputs and surveillance, a police team traced him to Vrindavan, where he was attempting to hide in plain sight by disguising himself as a woman. Officers said he was wearing a burqa and had applied lipstick in an apparent effort to avoid identification.
The arrest was carried out without incident, and Sisodia was immediately taken into custody and brought back to Rajasthan. Investigators confirmed that the accused has a criminal history, with at least five prior cases registered against him, underscoring concerns over repeat offending and public safety.
After being brought to the local police station, Sisodia was presented before the court in a highly visible manner. Police escorted him on foot from the station to the courthouse, a move officials said was intended to ensure security and send a strong message about accountability in serious crimes involving children.
Authorities emphasized that the investigation is ongoing and that all legal procedures are being followed. The case has once again drawn attention to the challenges faced by law enforcement in tracking absconding suspects and the importance of swift inter-state coordination in crimes of a grave nature.
The arrest marks a significant step toward justice in a case that has caused widespread concern in the region, reinforcing the message that attempts to escape the law—no matter how elaborate—will not shield accused persons from legal consequences.
